Creating a Wall of Sound
Everyone joins in to build a “wall of sound” using Boomwhackers, percussion instruments, bells and their own voices. Karina tops it off with her punk rock version of Jingle Bells, played on the bells with quirky new Australian lyrics. Along the way, children are encouraged to share their own opinions about each music genre they explore.
Why Music Makes Learning Easier
Karina shows how, for hundreds of years, people have used song to make hard work more enjoyable, lull babies to sleep and keep armies marching in time. Our children will discover how music helps them learn their ABCs and how to count, because learning with music is more fun and helps it stick.
Songs for Every Occasion
Children explore how many holidays and celebrations have their own special songs. And when it comes to favourite children’s TV themes, Karina only has to hum a few notes before hands shoot up, eager to name the tune.
Get Up and Dance!
In another hands-on segment, children explore body movement as Karina gets everyone up and dancing to her wicky wacky version of the Hokey Pokey. It’s a fun way to build coordination, rhythm and confidence.
Variety Is the Secret
What makes Itty Bitty Beats special is its variety. The show moves across music genres from a cappella to house, switches between watching and joining in, and keeps children delighted with ever-changing costumes and props.
We can’t wait to see our children singing, dancing and discovering the joy of music!
